| How
to: Windows
98 & 95 |
| |
Use the directions below to create a dialup connection for
the
Windows 98 or 95 operating systems.
|
| 1] |
Open Microsoft Dial-up Networking.
(Located
under "My Computer" )

Note
: Earlier versions of Windows 95 did not come with Dial-up
Networking pre-installed. If you do not see Dial-up Networking,
you will need to install it onto your computer. |
| 2] |
Double-click Make New Connection.

Note
: If Dial-up Networking has never been used on your PC,
you will automatically be presented with the option starting
on number 3 below. |
| 3] |
Replace My Connection with the word BAMnet, click Next to continue.

Note:
You do not need to select a device (or modem) as the one
pre-selected usually is the one to use. There is no reason
to click on Configure as we do all the configuring
for you. |
| 4] |
Insert
Area code and Number, click Next to continue.

Visit our Dial-Up
Number page and choose your desired dialup number.
Enter the number in the space as shown above. Click Next
to continue.
Notes:
If dialing our U.S. 1-800 number, enter 800 as
the area code, then 737-7530 as the telephone number.
If dialing one of our non-800 style numbers (see
list), use the calling format that works for the area
you are in. For example, if no area code is required when
dialing, you might only need XXX-XXXX as the number to
dial. Each country/state have their own calling formats.
For more information on calling patterns including access
from Hotels, visit our Helpful Tips section in the upper
right corner of this page.
|
| 5] |
Select Finish to complete the process. You should now
see a BAMnet Icon.

Note: When
you click the new icon, add "@bamnet" to the
end of your user name. For example username@bamnet.
Important: do not add ".com"
to the end of @bamnet - this will not work!
|
| Before
Connecting: Follow our simple Directions
to configure the new icon which will enhance modem connection
performance.
What
do I do now? Now that you created the connection,
test it by dialing into BAMnet. Upon a successful modem
connection, open either Microsoft Internet Explorer or
Netscape and start browsing the Internet. When finished
browsing, please remember to disconnect from BAMnet.
